In September and October 2024, Robin Piet and Rhonda Aliah rode their bicycles on the Camino de Santiago twice: once from Leon, Spain and again from Porto, Portugal.
The Camino de Santiago is a network of pilgrimage routes in Europe, all leading to the shrine of the Apostle James in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, in Santiago, Spain. Tradition holds that his remains are located there. Starting in the Middle Ages, the pilgrimage had religious significance. The Pope offered indulgences to all who could prove they completed the route by walking or on horseback. Today, people complete the route for many reasons: religious, spiritual, athletic, cultural, the challenge, etc. Bicycles are now an allowed mode of transportation.
Come enjoy a presentation with pictures and stories about Robin and Rhonda’s rides.
