During the pre-pandemic winter of 2019-2020 you could find Ian Johnston skiing some of the most challenging lines in the Tetons preparing himself for an upcoming trip in the spring to climb Denali and do a ski descent via the Messner Couloir. Then the pandemic hit and Denali Park closed.
In short order Ian and his two climbing partners had to come up with a Plan B and settled on a not too shabby consolation prize consisting of a 117 mile ski tour through the Wind River Mountains lasting almost two weeks. Ian will show images of his challenging and ambitious Wind River tour at this month’s meeting via Zoom.
