You don’t want to miss this one! On September 25th we will be biking Fish Creek Road in Island Park the fun way –down! This is a hard-top road with very little traffic. The ride is 22 miles, with 20 of them being downhill, the elevation drop is 2400 feet. Meet at the Bridge at Warm River (Where Fish Creek Road starts, near the Warm River Campground) at 10:00 am, we will leave a car there and take bikes to the top. Bring your own lunch and drinks to eat about half way down! This ride is more suited for mountain bikes or hybrids, however several people have used their road bikes. There might be a few downed trees that go a little into the road and a few potholes, all easily avoided.
Please contact Susan McKinley if you can come or with questions– ksmckinley@msn.com or 208-520-3784. If you need bike transportation, Casey Braastad may be able to help since he will be towing Sue’s bike trailer. To arrange a time to meet Casey to load your bike before the 25th, call him or text him at 208-881-4355. He works during the day. Bring a bag chair if you want to drop it off at the lunch site which is 10 miles from the top, 12 from the bottom on the East side. To get to the bridge, take highway 20 to Ashton, take a right on 47 to go East. Before you go up the hill, there will be a turn to the right to the Warm Springs Campground. There is parking right near the bridge.
